exploring how creative tools and lighting can transform the way you

approach your photography. Discover how creative lighting techniques, and

Photoshop tools can be combined with crystals, cylinders, reflective

surfaces, flashes, gels, and light modifiers to add depth, atmosphere, and

artistry to your images.

While the session encourages experimentation and creative play, the true

focus remains on mastering lighting and posing as the foundation for

consistently strong photographs. By blending solid technique with

imaginative thinking, you’ll gain practical ideas and fresh inspiration to fuel

your own creative journey.

The session will culminate with a short demonstration of how to light, direct

and create impactful and engaging group composite images perfect for

family and bridal party shoots.

About Speaker

Ben Connolly

Ben Connolly is a Queensland based, Internationally acclaimed Wedding Photographer,

Speaker, Educator and Photography Judge. Founder of Ben Connolly Creative, a

boutique wedding photography studio based in Australia focussing on weddings and

working with over 60 couples per year, with a Photography career spanning over 20

years and over one thousand weddings.

Ben is one of the most awarded wedding photographers in Australia, while also being

the highest ranked Australian in 3 International Photography Competitions. He is a

competition Judge and has spoken to audiences in Australia, USA, Japan and the UK

After a near fatal skydiving accident in 2002, Ben shifted focus to weddings and

developed a passion for the use of flash and creative lighting in his work. Creatively, Ben

is drawn to creative lighting techniques and the more technical side of crafting beautiful

imagery. Ben's photographs are bold and colourful with an unconventional mix of

detailed posing, creative lighting and off camera flash.

Ben also has a passion sharing his photography and business learnings, along with his

successes and failures to help others better understand photography and business to

enable and empower them to bring their unique visions of photography and success to

life.

Ben does this by working with photographers and business owners to give them

advanced photography skills, strategic business direction, creative inspiration and the

creation of systems and processes to create sustainable, profitable and successful

businesses.
