He then demonstrates this approach in practice during a real wedding-style shoot, showing how he moves through a scene, reads light, directs posing, and makes decisions in real time. Participants observe how a vision formed at first sight is translated into photographs.
The workshop concludes with an editing session, where John shows how the initial visualization of a scene is completed in post-production. At the same time, he emphasizes that the largest part of an image’s creation happens in-camera — with editing serving to refine and finalize what was already intentionally captured.
